Effective July 1, 2010, K. Michelle Jenkins became the new Town Attorney for
Gate City. Although this is her first foray as a local government attorney, she is no stranger to local government, as she previously worked with the Town of Gate City in many aspects in the past, including as Chairman of the Planning Commission and interim Town Manager. Also of note, Michelle became a member of the bar in 2006 as a Law Reader and also boasts a Master's Degree in City Management from East Tennessee State University, a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Emory & Henry College, as well as an Associate's Degree from Southwest Virginia Community College.
