LGA Issues Affecting Local Government Committee
Mission statement
Undertake consideration of policy issues affecting the development and interpretation of local government law, acting or taking positions by adopting formal policy reports and submitting such reports to the LGA board of directors for endorsement by the LGA.
Establish and maintain legislative contacts, where appropriate, with the two local government committees of the Virginia General Assembly (Counties, Cities, and Towns in the House and Local Government in the Senate), to provide and receive resource information.
Coordinate and serve as liaison to the LGA board of directors for any ad hoc committees on legislative issues that may be appointed by the LGA president (e.g., ad hoc committee on tax-exempt property).
