New 2012 Edition

The new 2012 edition is fully integrated and up-to-date. All chapters have been revised, not only to add new materials but also to delete outdated cases, statutes, and verbiage. Please note that while the seventh edition of The Handbook was dated 2010, this eighth edition is dated 2012. This reflects the LGA Board's recent decision to have the date of the edition match the year of publication rather than the date of the latest content coverage.

CD-ROM Format

The new 2012 edition is published only in electronic format, as an enhanced CD-ROM. Each handbook chapter comprises a separate PDF file, readable with Adobe Acrobat Reader. The CD-ROM is searchable by keyword, both in its entirety and by individual chapter. The text includes hyperlinks to cross-referenced material in the same chapter and in other chapters of the handbook, and to cited websites.
