Purpose

Share best practices, solutions, and industry feedback from implementation of SB1282 and application of the Franchise Clause of the Va. Constitution. Coordinate with Virginia Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (VATOA).
Analyze and modify best practices based upon outcome of FCC decision on In re Mobilitie Petition, currently pending. Track that litigation, and potentially cooperate with national organizations like NACO and NATOA as appropriate.
Advise (but not advocate directly) VML, VACO, and locality lobbyists such as Phyllis Errico, Michelle Gowdy, Jeff Gore, and Chris Costa on impacts and legal issues with anticipated new legislation in the 2018 General Assembly session.
Modify best practices based on legislation in 2018 GA session.
Time period is anticipated to be 6/15/17 through 6/30/18.
